Whole-instance Odoo upgrades

Odoo upgrades: pay only when you see it working.

We move your whole Odoo setup — database and every custom module — to the newer version. You get a working copy to test first. You pay only after you've clicked through it yourself and it works.

Why upgrade at all?

Old Odoo doesn't break loudly. It gets quietly riskier.

Your system won't stop on any particular date — there's no deadline, and we won't invent one. But three clocks are running against it:

Security fixes stop

Odoo patches its three most recent versions. Fall off that list and newly found holes stay open — on the system that holds your customers, invoices, and prices.

The foundations age out

Old Odoo runs on old Python and old PostgreSQL, which retire on their own schedule. Routine server updates start breaking things, and keeping the old stack alive gets more expensive each year.

Community modules freeze

The free community modules (OCA and others) are maintained for current versions. On an old branch, bugfixes and improvements simply stop arriving.

Meanwhile the jump itself grows — every version you skip gets added to the eventual upgrade. The honest case for upgrading old Community →

If any number is off, we stop and fix it before it reaches you. If it all matches, you invite your team to test the new instance. You only pay once everyone's satisfied it works.

Plain answers

Questions people actually ask

No jargon. If you're on an old Odoo version and got a quote that made your eyes water, start here.

In one sentence — what do you do?

You're running an old version of Odoo (say Odoo 14). We move your whole system — all your data and any custom features built for you — onto a newer version, hand you a working copy to try, and you only pay once you've seen it working.

We're stuck on Odoo 14 and haven't been able to update. Is that you?

Exactly us. Most companies get stuck for the same reason: the version they're on is old, and the quote to move forward was huge or never arrived. We do just this one thing — get you off the old version and onto a current one — for a fixed price, with no long project.

How much does it cost?

Most upgrades land between $5,000 and $15,000 USD. But that's a typical range, not a menu price — a small, tidy setup can be less, and a big system with lots of custom features or many versions to jump can be more.

Here's the part worth knowing: because we do only this — no discovery phase, no retainer — our fixed price is often 50–70% below the quote a customer was originally given. You send us your system, we come back with one fixed price within 24 hours, and there's no charge to get that number. Market rates vs our pricing →

Why was the quote from our Odoo partner so much higher?

Big quotes usually bundle in workshops, meetings, retainers, and "discovery" before anyone touches your system — on top of hourly rates that often run $120–250 an hour. We skip all of that and quote the upgrade itself, nothing else, which is why we're frequently 50–70% cheaper than the number you were first handed. Why quotes balloon →

Do we have to pay before we know it works?

No — and this is the whole point. We give you a login to a working copy of your own system on the new version. You and your team click around and check it. You only pay after you're satisfied it works. Not before.

How do we know our numbers didn't get scrambled?

Before you pay, we hand you a simple report that checks the new system against your old one — row counts, financial totals, stock on hand, invoice numbers. If anything is off, we fix it before it reaches you. See the guarantee →

What do we actually need to send you?

Two things: a backup of your database (Odoo can make one for you from its own settings screen) and your custom features if you have any. You upload them through a secure page — even very large backups. We'll walk you through it. A plain step-by-step →

Is our data safe?

Your files upload straight into encrypted storage over a private, one-time link — they never sit on the public web. We use them only to prepare your quote and do the upgrade, and remove them after delivery. We never ask for live passwords.

Can't we just stay on our old version?

For a while, yes — nothing stops working on a set date, and Odoo's 2026 "surcharge" doesn't apply to self-hosted Community at all. What does happen: security fixes stop for old versions, the Python and PostgreSQL underneath reach their own end of life, and the free community modules you rely on stop getting bugfixes. None of that arrives as a bill — it arrives as an incident. The full, honest picture →

How long does it take?

You get your fixed price within 24 hours. The upgrade itself depends on the size of your system — we'll tell you the timeline with your quote, before you commit to anything.

Is this for self-hosted Odoo Community?

Yes — that's who we help. If you run your own Odoo (on your own server or a hosting provider) on the free Community edition, you're in the right place. Odoo Enterprise and Odoo's own online service have their own upgrade routes.
